Is it just me or would you think it was strange if your kids(the boys, mainly) wanted to lick the spoon you used to scoop out some shortening?
This has occurred on multiple occasions, so it's not like they don't know what it tastes like.

First Daughter always wants to lick the spoon after we've poured vanilla extract. Have you ever tasted it? She insists she likes it every time...
I used to do that when I was little because I thought it smelled so good, but tasting it was always a disappointment!
