Big Snow for November

Normally, if we get snow in November, it is just a little bit that doesn't really accumulate.  However, this past November 16th, we got quite a bit.  It was a Sunday, and we actually had to drive a different way to get to Mass, as all the east/west roads were drifted over.  The kids were greatly excited to get out in the first big snow of the season!

Anthony made this snowball and carried it around for a long time.

Dominic is all bundled up and ready to go.

Bright fall colors with snow seems strange.

Dominic explored down by the pond.

Anne in action.

Catherine on top of the sledding hill.

Dom pulled Joseph on the sled.

Heading back up the hill.

This very short video is called:  Over the Edge.

The First Half of November

Can you believe I made fresh salsa from garden ingredients on Nov. 3rd?

I took Anne, Catherine, Dominic, and their cousins to the Young People's Concert.

Not long after, cousins came for a sleepover!

On a nice Monday in November, we had a picnic lunch after school.

Joseph sips his fruit drink, a special treat.

Catherine enjoying the day.

Anthony found something funny.

One of Dominic's famous faces.

Twins!

Cool mileage on the old mini-van.

I found a new recipe for pizza bread sticks and boy, were they good!

One Saturday night we went to Krispy Kreme.

Scarfing down doughnuts!

Anthony heard the music and started to dance.

This 36-second video of Anthony putting on a show cracks me up.  It starts a little blurry, but gets better after a couple of seconds.

A Very Busy Day

On the day after Halloween, which is All Saints' Day, we started our very busy day by going to the Open House at Dan's work, which is Beechcraft (part of Textron Aviation).  We got to tour some of one of the buildings, play all kinds of carnival games, and eat lunch.  There was no picture-taking allowed inside the building, but outside there were airplanes to look at!

Posed in front of one of the airplanes.

This one's got teeth!

We got to go inside a business jet.

More airplanes.

Dan explained the parts of the plane to the kids.

We had a fun time checking out Daddy's work!

That same day, in the evening, we went to our homeschool group's All Saints' Party.  I helped the kids come up with saint costumes to wear.
Anthony as St. George, Catherine as St. Agnes, Joseph as St. Joseph, Anne as the Blessed Mother, Dominic as St. Dominic.

Mary and Joseph with Baby Jesus.

Lining up for the Saint march.

Off they go.

Oh, when the Saints go marching in...

Time for games!

St. Anthony's Lost and Found.

Another St. George with his very large dragon!

Anthony was thrilled to get his hand painted.

October Round-up

Lots of peppers for October.

Tons of tomatoes for October!

Anne got glasses.

Anthony worked on digging out pumpkin innards.

Kids watched Daddy carve pumpkins from our garden.

The kids drew faces on all the little gourds.

They were from our garden as well.

Catherine snacked on roasted pumpkin seeds.

The kids designed their own pumpkins, from left: Catherine, Dominic, Anne, Joseph, and Anthony.

Lit and ready for action.

Black cat, outlaw, witch, skeleton, and Batman.

It was a cold night!

Ready to go get some goodies.

Trick or treat!

Batman got tired, so he and I hung out in the car until the rest of the kids were done.

Look at all that loot!
