Shocker Volleyball

Anne's volleyball coach organized a team trip to watch a Wichita State University volleyball game in mid-October.  So one Friday night, Catherine, Anne, and I met her team for the game.

Catherine and Anne ready for the game in their Shocker gear.

We got some seats close up.

Before the game even started, the music was playing and the girls were dancing and cheering.

Some of the crowd were shown on the Jumbotron.

Look! Can you spot anyone? Talk about some excited girls!

Time for some volleyball.

Go Shockers!

Snacks to share only added to the fun of the game.

Anne's team (with a few extras) posed with the WSU cheerleaders.

Below is a video of what little girls do when they are at a WSU Shockers volleyball game:

Miscellaneous

One Sunday in January, Dan's nieces came for a babysitting sleepover.
Evelyn and Anthony, aka Robin and Batman.

Isabella and Olivia found out it is a bit hard to catch chickens.

The hair-do chain.

The girls learned to make cookies by themselves:
Anthony was waiting for his chance to swipe some cookie dough!

One afternoon the boys got into a cutting paper frenzy:
At least they only cut up what I told them they could!

One day in February, the kids went out to play in the snow and decided to bury Anthony.
Mount Anthony!

He couldn't move.

They had a hard time digging him out.

Early October

Here are some pictures from early October:
Enjoying a treat while sitting on a giant bag of beans.

Ni Ni Wolf!

Snuggling or squishing?  You decide!

Ah, yes, it is Boots.

May Garden Photos

This was the first thing harvested from our garden, on May 1st:
Asparagus!

Also in early May, the girls spent some time transplanting the swiss chard into a raised bed.
Catherine scoops one out...

...and sets it into place.

Anne's turn.

They filled up this whole raised bed with the swiss chard.

All smiles.

And dirty hands!

These next two pictures are from the end of May.  So far, we have harvested lots of asparagus, some rhubarb, swiss chard, spinach, lettuce, rocket salad (aka arugula), radishes, turnips (from thinning the row), snow peas, and a few beets (just to taste them).
Anthony checks out the main garden.

Going To The Nutcracker!

In mid-December, our homeschool group had a field trip to the Nutcracker Ballet.  I took the girls and two of my nieces, while my sister-in-law watched all the rest of the kids.  I think I got a good deal on that one!

Waiting for the rest of the homeschoolers to get there.

Isabella and Catherine.

Olivia and Anne.

Afterwards, I managed to snap this shot of the girls with the Sugarplum Fairy.  See how they are all starry-eyed?

The girls all loved going to the Nutcracker Ballet.  The neat thing is, now they recognize the music from it everywhere!

A Winter Project

First Daddy built some shelves.

Then he painted the shelves and put them in the girls' room.  Now nearly all their toys are on these shelves.  I should have taken an "after" picture.  The shelves really help them to keep their room cleaner.  Hooray!

Sisters!

Catherine and Anne share a room,...

...play together, imagine together, and just have fun together.

Most of the time they are best friends.
