Early September

Another big melon haul.

That was one huge cantaloupe!

Watching the farmer bale our hay.

And there's a bale!

Anne at Grandma's.

Daddy and the kids with Grandma.

Another pose.

Watermelon haul was moved to the basement to help them last longer.

The farmer came to get the hay bales.

A big load!

Unpacking the sauerkraut.

Kids ate it right out of the crock.

5+ gallons loaded into the fridge!

We made it to the September homeschool roller skating party.

Go, Anne, go!

Taking a break.

Limbo time.

The Rest of August

*Edited to add a couple of pictures I found on Dan's phone from the Marble Moon Company!

Anthony kept waiting for Dominic and Joseph to come out, until he fell asleep.

One picking of melons!

Used the electric roaster to make stuffed peppers on the deck.

Look up high in the tree!

One afternoon during the second week of school, we got to go to a friend's pool.

The diving board was a hit.

Anthony had to strike his pose.

A plate of clouds one evening.

The same night.

At grandparents' house the last weekend in August.

The twins got some birthday gifts; hooray!

We finally made it to the Moon Marble Company, in nearby Bonner Springs.  As we got out of the car, the train came!

Heading inside.

We watched a craftsman hand -blow a glass marble, which was fascinating. The store was filled with not only marble and glass items, but also a ton of old-fashioned toys.

Outside, you could draw on the walls.

Dominic played with a toy from my childhood.

Family!

Dan and the boys walking back up from the pond.

Cousins!

The traditional Sunday late afternoon popcorn-making.

Travels in May

In mid-May, the kids and I went up to my parents' house for a couple days.   My brother, Fr. Brian, was visiting for a little while from Germany, where he is stationed as an Air Force Chaplain.
Joseph got an early birthday present.

I think he liked it.

Time for some swinging!

There goes Anthony.

Dominic pushed his twin on the swing.

Catherine hung out with the cat.

Grandpa was busy with all the swings!

The next morning, we all went to the park in town.
More swinging.

Grandpa held Catherine and Anthony hostage.

Fr. Brian and Dominic went running on the trail that wound around the park.

The kids take their revenge.

Capturing the last kid for a picture.

Fr. Brian got in his upper body work out as well!

The kids with Uncle Fr. Brian.

Grandma and Grandpa fixed up popcorn sacks for the ride home.
