When Daddy rips out the garden remains and then tills the whole thing, what does that make? You got it, a playground for the kids! Could you? Would you? Let your kids, I mean?
"Rototilling" the dirt, just like Daddy:
Catherine is carrying a big clump of dirt in her hands:
"Look at all that good dirt!" Yeah, on the pants, too. Ooh, lots of laundry coming.
Oh, this was the prime playground for quite a few days around here.
I know, Anne has light pink pants on, not the best color for dirt-playing.
But, hey, this is the view from the kitchen window,
and they are fenced in. Bonus!

Looks like fun!
My, you had a big garden!
What we had this year was about 2/3 the size of what is in the pictures. Dan tilled more and extended it. We want to try a watermelon/cantaloupe patch next year. Yum!
Oh, funny, I commented under Dan's sign-in for his blog.
Kansas Dad would like to expand our garden next year, but I'm trying to convince him we should keep the expansion minimal. We didn't get to any landscaping this year and won't probably have more time next year with Kansas Dad's new masters classes.
He's also thinking of adding bees, which is all the more reason to avoid crazy expansion.
Though we are adding an herb garden in the front yard. We missed having a wide variety of herbs growing well right out our door.
