What did I survive?
Taking all five children to the dentist's office for four checkups yesterday morning! Catherine, Dominic, and Anne each went back with the dental hygienist all by themselves and did very well. Poor little Anne is going to have to go back in a couple of weeks to get her tooth re-filled. She had one molar tooth that came in with a pit in it that eventually developed into a cavity, which she had to get drilled and filled last summer. Unfortunately, the filling fell out a couple months ago. :(
Last, but not least, it was Joseph's turn. I wasn't sure if he would cooperate at all, but after some initial hesitation, and a ride in the dentist's chair with Mommy and Anthony, he got in the chair all by himself, put on his "sunglasses," and let them clean and check his teeth. What a big boy! I was so proud of him! It helped that he knew he was going to get to pick out a prize (toy) from the treasure box when he was done.
Anthony got cranky while we were there(for almost 3 hours!), and Joseph was starting to bounce off the walls in the waiting room, but other than that, we really did very well. And I have to say, our dentist and his staff must do a good job because the kids like going there and are already talking about what flavor of toothpaste they want to choose next time!

Congratulations! We go to a peds dentist and I love it there. They are so understanding and patient (with the little ones that aren't ready to be seen, too).
Sorry to hear about Anne's cavity. That's a bummer!
